L'Escapade, on the water in Grand Case.

Thirty years ago, L'Escapade was Créole shack on the beach in a sleepy fishing village. Today it is a smart restaurant serving fine French cuisine with an accent on fish, including fresh Caribbean lobster from the tank, but it is still on the beach. Grand Case Bay now has more pleasure boats than fishing boats, but the view across the Bay to Anguilla is still spectacular and the sea breezes still caress you as you dine in our waterfront setting. Stop in for lunch in high season and this eastern view out to Créole Rock will take your breath away.

Axel, Mimi, and Chef David Today Axel and Mimi bring out the finest in French cuisine from Chef David's kitchen. Enter our colorful, breezy restaurant on the water, passing by the lobster tank and check the specials sign to see what great dishes Chef David can make from whatever looked best at the market. Choose an aperitif from the bar and relax in our lounge as your table is readied.

The menu features French cuisine with local touches. Our appetizers include a sea scallops and artichoke duet on a bed of lavender flavored salad in chorizo sauce, sautéed duck liver in sweet red wine and strawberry sauce, and French onion soup. Dinner features the freshest fish that can be found prepared in interesting ways, such as grilled jumbo shrimp in a saffron tomato sauce with parsley, flamed with anis brandy. Of course we have live lobster which is available grilled with your choice of four sauces: ginger and limegrass sauce, lemon butter sauce, pesto rosso, or lime and saffron oil.
